About us

who we are

The Collective Tri is an inclusive triathlon community founded by members of the AAPI community, open to athletes of all backgrounds, ages, paces, and experience levels. We exist to bring people together through the shared journey of swimming, biking, and running—not just to compete, but to connect. We believe in celebrating our differences, building each other up, and creating a safe space where every athlete belongs. We are not a club. We are a collective—bound by purpose, not prestige. Above all, we care deeply about preserving the community spirit that multisport offers—welcoming everyone, without exception, into a space of belonging.

how we give back

At The Collective Tri, volunteering is at the heart of what we do. We believe in the power of community—and in the strength that comes from putting others first. We use our collective energy to give back, not for recognition, but because its what we feel called to do. Volunteering turns connection into impact and reminds us that the real win is lifting others up. It’s how we live our values—by showing up, giving freely, and making a difference together.

One is wearing a black and red cycling jersey, sunglasses, and a black cap, and the other is wearing a blue cycling jersey, sunglasses, and a visor cap. They are outdoors near a building with a sign that says 'lakefront grill' and other bicycles in the background.

how we operate

The Collective Tri is a community, not a club. We focus on collaboration, connection, and collective purpose.

We partner with existing swim groups, Pelotons, and running collectives to host community-centered events and volunteer opportunities. These partnerships are built on shared values—creating space for people to train together, give back together, and grow together.

Our community-driven events are open to all — no matter your pace, experience level, or background. Whether it’s a group ride with a local peloton, a swim session with a masters group, or a run followed by volunteering at a local food bank, we prioritize togetherness over exclusivity.

We exist to amplify what already exists, not to compete with it. By connecting people across different disciplines and communities, we preserve and expand the inclusive spirit of multisport. We’re here to help you become the best version of yourself, alongside others doing the same.

One woman is wearing a pink cap and white shirt, another woman is in an orange shirt and sunglasses, and a man in the middle has a towel around his neck. There are sunglasses and a water bottle on the table.

our purpose

Our purpose is to create a welcoming and empowering space within triathlon that centers community, connection, and giving back. We aim to remove barriers to entry and redefine what it means to participate in endurance sports. We believe community should never be exclusive—it should embrace every culture, pace, age, and experience level. Our goal is to help people feel seen, supported, and valued.

our goal

To foster a diverse and inclusive triathlon community where people of all identities and experience levels feel seen, supported, and inspired. Through shared training, storytelling, mentorship, and service, we strive to uplift individuals while contributing positively to the communities we live in and race in. We aim to help every athlete—regardless of where they start—become the best version of themselves.
